Qualifications
Psychologists
Our psychologists have all achieved a professional doctorate in Counselling Psychology. This is a 3 year post-graduate training programme, culminating in a research dissertation & viva. Applicants must have achieved the BPS graduate basis for registration.
Counselling Psychology trainees are required to undertake their own personal therapy & must complete at least 450 face to face, counselling hours before they can achieve their qualification.
Psychologists follow the ethical guidelines of the BPS (British Psychological Society) & must meet the registration guidelines of the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), in order to be able to use this protected title.
The Counselling Psychology training is generally integrative, covering the three main schools of psychotherapy, namely person-centred, cognitive-behavioural & psychodynamic.
Accredited Therapists
Our accredited counsellors have trained to Honours degree or Masters degree level & are accredited by either the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) or the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy).
Satisfying the criteria for accreditation requires that therapists must have at least 3 years post-qualifying experience, over 450 therapeutic hours & have completed a number of academic pieces (essays, self-reflections & case studies) to the requisite standard in order to illustrate their competency.

Qualified Therapists
Our qualified therapists have all studied to at least Diploma level & are registered with either the BACP, British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy or the UK Council for Psychotherapy, UKCP. Many of our therapists have undertaken Masters degrees.
They all have at least 3 years post-qualifying experience & offer both supportive counselling & depth psychotherapy. There are many different training routes to qualifying as a counsellor. Please see our team profiles to find out more about our qualified therapists.
